The 1B230 auto reclose relay provides up to two-shot auto reclose control for distribution and transmission systems, with independently adjustable dead times for both shots. A cycle is initiated by operation of a protective relay, provided the breaker was closed until protection operated. The dead time starts once the breaker trips and protection resets, after which a close signal is given if conditions are safe and the closing spring is charged. After closing, the reclaim timer starts; if the breaker stays closed the relay resets, otherwise it advances to the next shot or goes to lockout.
