The BMM Panel (Battery Monitoring Module) is a battery monitoring and control unit developed for railway applications. It is designed to regulate the power supplied to various sub-systems within a train, ensuring stable, safe, and efficient energy distribution. The module was developed in response to a customer request for improved performance, faster operation, and enhanced functionality of their train battery systems. By modernizing battery control and monitoring, the BMM Panel increases system reliability, optimizes energy management, and supports more sustainable train operation through improved efficiency and longer battery life.

The Override and Cooling Monitoring Unit is a custom-built retrofit panel designed as part of the overall train control system. Its primary function is to monitor and control the train’s cooling system, ensuring reliable and efficient operation within the wider traction and control architecture. The unit was developed because the original panel was no longer available. Our solution not only replaces obsolete equipment but also improves system performance, accelerates response times, and enhances overall efficiency. By modernizing the cooling control system, this retrofit contributes to improved reliability and supports more sustainable train operation.

Short project lead times, last‑minute design changes, and strict space and weight constraints in rolling stock demand flexible, compact, and reliable electrical solutions. The High Density Relay Module (HDRM) by Mors Smitt addresses these challenges by combining high functionality with a small footprint. Based on the proven D‑U relay, the HDRM offers up to 42 relays and 168 changeover contacts in a line‑replaceable unit, enabling fast maintenance and maximum fleet uptime. Its wired, freely configurable design allows last‑minute circuit changes without PCB delays, while comprehensive automated testing ensures certified reliability.
